We hope you’ll find us to be a family-friendly church. We run a variety of ministries to help us fulfill our mission in a variety of different ways:
Children from 3 years old through Grade 8 are taught by caring volunteers in our Sunday School. Bible studies, worship, and fun activities are all a part of our programs. Our Sunday School program runs on Sunday mornings at 11:15am – 12:15pm during the Family Bible Hour.
Our Lightforce Kids Club (our own version of the Awana clubs) is held every Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 from Sept. – March. We seek to introduce children to Jesus Christ and encourage them to follow his bright example since He is the Light of the world. We do this through a combination of Bible reading, memorization and games. It is open to all children from JK – Gr. 8.
The Central Algoma Youth Group (CAYG) is a youth ministry organized by Island Bible Chapel, and run with assistance by youth leaders from other evangelical churches in the Central Algoma area. All high school youth are welcome to come join us every Friday right off of the bus from school. We hang out, talk, eat, study God’s Word and have fun with many crazy activities. It’s our desire to see teens become committed disciples of Jesus and to provide a fun atmosphere for them to connect with their friends.
We have a variety of men’s and ladies’ Bible studies, as well as some mixed small groups which gather weekly for a time of companionship and Bible study. Various themes are covered with an emphasis on making the Bible come alive and on making practical applications in the lives of the men who attend.
The following groups meet throughout the year:
-Tuesday Morning: Ladies’ Bible Study at the chapel at 10:30 a.m.
-Tuesday Evening: Men’s Bible Study at the chapel at 7:00 p.m.
Spring Folly is an annual Christian youth conference and retreat with a purpose of exposing students between 14-20 years to Jesus Christ and providing opportunities for spiritual growth. It takes place at Central Algoma Secondary School in Desbarats Ontario on the last full weekend in April each year. Events include speakers, music, seminars, worship, sports and much more.
